A new piling yard has been con
structed by the Daugherty Piling
Co., a mile east of the Lorane Val
ley Co., B mill in the Lorane sec
tion. The new yard eliminates the
necessity of bringing piling by ■
truck through Cottage Grove. All
piling now are shipped by rail.

her home in Santa Monica. Cali

after spending several
weeks at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. William Thum. Mr. and Mrs.
Lindquist came to Oregon to at
tend the installing of Mrs. William
Thum as worthy matron of the
grand chapter of Oregon. Order of
Eastern Star. Mr. Lindquist spent
a week in Cottage Grove.
R. J. Lindquist and son Eric and
the Chas. N. Lindquists were on
their way to Portland to attend
the chiropractic convention held
June 26 to July 2. R. J. Lindquist
is of the firm of R. J. Lindquist
and CO., of Los Angeles. Calif. The
Lindquists are nephews of Wil
liam Thum.
Dr. and Mrs. Dean Webb of
San Diego, Calif., are spending a
few days here visiting her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Liston.
Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Bain have
sold their residence at 1643 Ash
avenue to Mark Kincart and have
moved to Eugene, where they will
make their future home.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Smith
have returned home after spend
ing last week vacationing at Sea
side. and are now open for busi
ness at the Rainbow cafe. They
were accompanied on their trip by
their son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Smith of Cor
vallis.

Rev. J. L. Beatty, who is living at
the Masonic home. He was quite
ill when Mrs. Racknor visited him,
but is reported improving.
