ORTHODOX RABBI AT U.N. HEARING ON PALESTINE
The school board members and
several others spent Sunday clean-
> ing up the school house, washing
woodwork and painting them.
They put up new black boards in
' the primary room and also cleaned
up the school grounds anti killed

will reopen Monday September 8th
with Frank Clark a* principal and
he will teach the upper grades
Mr» Emily Robinson of Eugene
will teach the lower grades.
The 4-H Camp Cookery club met
with their leader. Mrs. Dorothy
Ketchersidc. Monday afternoon
Nine members were present. The
next meeting will be Tuesday, Sep­
tember 2nd.
Mrs. Aud Abbott had the misfor­
tune one day last week of having
a large rock roll on her left hand
fracturing the bone and smashing
her hand.
Mrs. Claud«- Willey and daugh­
ter of Roseburg are staying a
few days at the home of Mrs. Wil­
ley's sister, Mrs. Lowell Benston,
as the Willey home burned to the
ground Saturday night and noth­
ing was saved but a washing ma­
chine that was on the back porch.
A miscellaneous shower will be
given for her Wednesday Aug. 27
at the Benston home.
Mr. and Mrs Kari Miller and
son and Mm. Miller's mother, all
of Portland, spent the week end j
at the home of Mr. Miller's moth- I
er. Mrs. Jake Schwarzer.
Clark Gersbach, small son of
Mm. Iris Gersbach, was taken to
a hospital in Eugene Saturday
night, very ill, but latest report
he was improving.
Mr. and Mrs Lewis Conley and
son of Cottage Grove, and Mr. and
Mrs. C. G. Keene spent Sunday at!
