(Special) H a r ley Harms, Cottage Grove horse m a n will have’ several entries in the two day horse race meeting to be held here at the Lane county fairgrounds Friday and Saturday afternoon* part of the Fourth- of-July celebration to be sponsor ed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Harms' horses will compete a- gainst a stellar field of some 60 entries, many California horses enroute to Longacres track in Se attle. The races, which will be held each day starting at 2 p. m., will include pari-mutuel wagering. Besides the five running events each afternoon, three harness heat* will be held for the some 20 Oregon and Washington trotters and pacers entered in the meet. Midget auto racing by Bobby Rowes ¿5 Oregon Midget racing association drivers, will be held Friday night with time trials scheduled to get under way at 7 p. m. The heavy-footed pilots will be competing in a regular asso ciation meet with the point* counting on the Pacific northwest championship competition.
