Skiers Enjoy Day
Bohemia District
Twelve skiers, including several
from the S ki Laufcis club of Eu
gene, enjoyed the day at Bohemia
Sunday, although according to re
ports the weather was a bit too
wet fo r good skiing. Wayne Mack-
in, club president, announced that
an improved ski ground has ap
parently been located on the north
side of Grouse Mountain. A tho
rough inspection of t h e
new
ground has not been made, but
from a prelim inary inspection the
new site looks very promising.
Also a possibility is the loan of
a ski tow for the rem ainder of the
season by the Eugene club. W heth
er or not the tow w ill be placed
into use w ill depend on weather
conditions.
California Sunshine
May Spell Disaster
For Part Fruit Crop
The southern California s u n-
shine which prevailed here for a
ten-day period, ending Sunday,
was sure fine while it lasted, but
may spell disaster for some of the
fru it crop in the W illam ette val
ley. W hile floods occurred in
southern California and w in ter
swept other parts of the country,
the spring-like weather brought
forth m any early spring flowers
and buds and blooms on fru it
trees.
A peach, pear and prune crop
w ill depend on the kind of weath
e r we have from
now on until
summer.
CAR DAMAGED IN SLIGHT

The V -8 sedan of Dave W illiam s

on 6th and Washington when a
3-C truck driven by Corbin Lively
going west on Washington failed
to stop a t the intersection and
struck the re a r end of the W il
liams car going south on 6th
street.
