Marine Corps will probably he authorized very short ly to recruit a larger number of men than it was allowed to enlist all during 1940. it was revealed by Major James B. Hardie, re cruiting officer in charge of this district. The names of a considerable number of applicants who have already tx'en accepted have been placed on a waiting list, pending such time as they can actually be enlisted. The quota for February will most likely exceed that for this month, the major believes. Prob ably by March the Marine Corps will he allowed to expand to such a degr<*e that new recruiting sta tions will have to be established in this district to take care of en listments. Recommendations for the opening up of new stations at Klamath Falls. Oregon, and Lew iston, Idaho, have already been made. At present the Portland district maintains recruiting sta tions at Salem and La Grande Oregon, at Walla Walla. Washing ton. and Boise. Idaho, in addition to headquarters at Portland. Mrs. Aubrey, whose maiden name was Sbarlel Malinda Nichols was born May 5. 186-1 In Iowa and later movixl to Lawrence, Kansas at the age of eight. At the age of twelve the family moved to Bonanza. Oregon where she sfx'nt her early life. On February 8. 18KO she was married to Irvin Aubrey at Bonanza, where they lived until coming to Cot tage Grove In 1907. Mrs. Aubrey has mailt* her home her«' since that date. Mr. Aubrey passitl away in 1909. Surviving are three daughters and three sons; Mrs. Anna Ham mond of Montague. California. Mrs. M. E. Moore of Butte Falls, this state and Mrs. R. 8, Smith of Cottage Grove; Ray Aubrey of Malin and Rosa and Ralph of Klamath Falls and one brother, Frank Nichols of Bonanza, twenty grand children and five groat grand children Mrs. Aubrey was a member of the Christian church, the Rebeknh bulge and the Women's Relief corps.
