from the F B I. Portland police de­
partment, and other agencies, will
meet for an intensive week of
training at the FBI-Oregon Police
Officers school, to be held on the
University of Oregon campus Oc­
tober 21 to 26, It was announced
here by Herman Kehrll. executive
secretary of the league of Oregon
Cities and director of the bureau
of municipal research.
The school this year w ill have
two sessions, an elementary and
an Intermediate. Officer» attend­
ing for the first time w ill be given
instruction -in subjects taught at
the school last year, while those
who have already attended w ill do
advanced work.
Included on the "faculty" for
the school w ill be J. D. Swenson,
special agent In charge of the
Portland F B I office; Chief of Po­
lice H a rry M Niles, Captain H. A.
I-ewis, and others from Portland;
and a number of others expert In
various lines. Regular instructors
of the F B I w ill be on hand to ex­
plain laboratory work, handling of
firearms and other phases of po- i
lice work.

Three on a Match
The fact that it is considered un­

meant something. The attention of

of a match flare in the distance.
While the match was handed to the
second man. he obtained his range
and when it was handed to the
third man. he fired. The poor fel­
low who was third to hold the match
had his head blown off.
