Young men w ill be selected on the basis of their interest in and ability to profit from the edu cational and vocational training. Every effort w ill be made to place each enrollee in the camp and in the type of work for which he is best suited and most inter ested. Each enrollee w ill be given a brief orientation course, after which opportunity will be provid ed for specialized training Jn one I of the hundred or more occupa tions available in the Civilian Con servation Corps. Those who show particular ability and interest w ill have the further opportunity of receiving training in one of a num- 1 ber of specialized schools, which i w ill offer intensive training in , radio operation, telephone con- Istruction and repair, auto me- - chanics, cooking and baking, first aid, tractor operation and repair, photography, and other vocations. Applicants must be unmarried, I citizens of the United States, be tween the ages of seventeen and twenty-three, unemployed and in need of the training opportunities available through the Civilian Conservation Corps, in g o o d health, not in regular attendance in school nor on vacation there from, and of good character. The next enrollment w ill take place between October 1 and Oc tober 31, 1940. Information is ob tainable at the office of the Lane county public welfare commis sion and the Oregon state em ployment service. E. Holler, general sales manager. In the period, 10.828 new passenger and commercial cars and 39,256 used cars were sold. Despite the fact that Chevrolet announced its new car models September 21, nearly a month in advance of the announcement date last year, dealers outsold last year’s final, period by nearly 3,500 units.
