Special tags have been authorized by the game commission and a lim ited supply is still available. Any sportsman wishing to go antelope hunting should obtain his tag by com­ municating with the Portland of­ fice of the commission at once. Elk season opens November 1 and extends to the 16th, both dates inclusive. B u l l eik with horns may be shot in Union, U m a­ tilla, Grant, Morrow, Baker and that part of W allowa county north of baseline and west of the Im - naha river. The cow elk territo ry lies within the bull elk territo ry but does not embrace the entire territo ry. Hunters should refer to the official hunting synopsis for the exact boundaries. Decision of the game commis­ sion to throw open a number of game reserves for deer hunting has made new deer hunting grounds that w ill accommodate many sportsmen. Last year the commission opened Ochoco, M y r­ tle Park and Canyon Creek in Grant county and these three re­ serves w ill again be open this year. In addition, the following game refuges are also open to deer hunting: Mule deer, in south­ ern Klam ath and Lake counties; Steen Mountain, in southeast H a r­ ney county; M r. Em ily, on boun­ dary of U m atilla and Union coun­ ties and that part of the W arner game refuge lying outside of the H eart Mountain antelope reserve in southeast Lake counties. In Canyon Creek refuge, only bow and arrow hunting w ill be permitted from the opening of the deer season until October 3.
