TO PAID UP OR NEW SUBSCRIBERS OF New Tire Tread Saves Lives This summer American motor ists will pile up millions of miles of touring and sight-seeing around the country. This traveling, ac cording to J. D. Ferris, division manager, U. S. Tire Dealers Cor poration, will be greater than ever, because the war abroad will p re-, vent the usual exodus of Ameri can tourists to Europe. ‘The wise motorist,” Mr. Fer ris said, “before setting out on a trip, no m atter how extensive or how brief, will make a special point to see that his car is equip ped with the best tires - is "sum mer - proofed’ for trouble - free, worry-free motoring. "During the coming weeks, mo torists will have the opportunity of ‘summer-proofing’ their cars by equipping them with U. S. Royal DeLuxe Tires, available at special summer prices at all General Pe troleum service stations and other ‘U. S. dealers. “The U. S. Royal DeLuxe tire, found as original equipment on many of the 1940 cars, is a major contribution to safer and more comfortable motoring. “The outstanding feature of this tire is its quick stopping, double action tread. This is, in reality, a tread within a tread. First, it has) a perforated, six-row, non-skid i block design, and secondly it has an exclusive, quick-stopping de vice which places on the ground more than 2,500 extra sharp grip ping edges. These edges, or ‘grip- I pers’, greatly increase the stopping' power, because the instant the car brakes are applied, the ‘grip pers’ go into play, bite through slippery road film, and bring the car to a quick, safe, straight-line pondence study.
