Earl Snell, secretary of state, announced that the 1940 non-resi dent permits, which are in the form of stickers to be placed on the windshield of the out-of-state cars, would feature the actual color photograph of a scene at one of Oregon’s many beaches, show ing two girls on horseback and another girl on a bicycle. The picture. Snell said, illustrates the spacious qu a I i t y of Oregon beaches where there is abundant room for riding, swimming, lolling in the sand or surf fishing. In the past the non-resident permits have featured drawings or in some instances there has been merely the words, “Oregon," to gether with the year and the des ignation as an out-of-state visitor. This year’s permits have the word "Oregon" in modern printing across the top of the picture, with the inscription "Guest. 1940” in smaller letters on the left side of the sticker. 'Phis is planned as the first of a series of non-resident permits each showing some typical Oregon scene in natural colors. It is be lieved these stickers will be dis tinctive to Oregon and will serve to advertise the vacation advant ages of the state in other parts of the country. After an examination this is what the doctor told him, accord ing to John K. Winkler, author of "Morgan the Magnificent:" "You hnve worked all your life with your brain. Your body is secon dary. Changing your habits might be fatal. Take no exercise In any form. Don't even walk a block when you can ride in a hansom. You have a magnificent constitu tion.
