Cottage Grove merchants are staging the second annual baby derby with attractive prizes for the first and second babies of the Cottage Grove trade area to be born in 1940. This is a fea ture of many communities and newspapers throughout the United States, not that they want to emulate H itler or Mussolini and bring on more cannon fodder, but the young typify growth and de velopment; men and women who are soon to take our places and carry on.
