Wool, Mohair Growers
Get Break In Market
Wtx>l and mohair growers over
the United States who have wool
or mohair to sell will get a break
due to the rising prices. Mohair
prices have Increased about forty
percent since last spring and
wool almost as much. The main
difficulty of course is that prac
tically all woq ! and mohair has
been sold. A shipment of 4,800
pounds of mohair was made from
here yesterday to Portland and
except for hair In storage this
represents the only unsold hair
from this section so far as known.
Today mohair is bringing the
grower forty cents per pound,
against twenty-five cents per
pound last spring. Lamb’s wool
is quoted at twenty-seven cents
and year’s growth wool at thirty-
five cents per pound.

Lumber Shipments
Total 118 Cars From
Area the Past Week
Lumber shipments from this
district over the Southern Pacif
ic took a jump of eighteen cars
the past week for a total of 129
cars for the period. A total of 111
cars were loaded out the previous
week. Owing to the heavy move
ment of grain to market, some
difficulty has been experienced in
securing equipment to move the
local lumber. Inventories at the
mills are generally low and in
most instances sales have exceed-
ed the cuttings.
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
A county road crew has recent
ly made some improvements on
the Lorane road and eliminated
some of the hazards of a curve
near the Overholzer mill about
four miles west of here.
