TI iURSDAY, JULY 28, 103» THE SHNTINKL, COTTAGE GROVE, OREGON Barn, Machinery Bum McDole Farm A fire of unknown origin at the Harry McDole place last Wednes day afternoon destroyed a barn containing several tons of hay, a woodsaw, grain drill hay rake and several other pieces of farm ma chinery. Prompt action and hard work of harvest men, wood cut ters and men from the Harris mill kept the fire from spreading to other buildings but several acres of stubble were burned over. McReynolds are building a new house one-half mile southeast of the old house. The new home will be a 7-room bungalow. Alan Reed is spending three weeks with his brothers Don and Stewart Harris, in Portland. Mrs. Mosy Johnson has return ed from a visit with a sister near Marshfield. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reed had a group of friends and former Texas neighbors from Eugene spend Wednesday evening. They were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin T. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Porter and son and daughter have gone for a two week's vacation and will visit relatives in Idaho and Wash ington.
