JUNE 23. 1938___________________________________ NUMBER 45 London 4-H Club Girls Win High Honors at Oregon State College London 4-H club girls placed un usually high in the judging contest which was participated in by over 1,000 girl* attending the 4-H sum mer school in Corvallis. Only one girl in all of the contests made a perfect score. Eathel Ann Newton, who placed in the cooking judg ing class with a perfect score of 400. She was closely followed by Winifred Makinson with a score of 385 in the same class Jacque line Morton placed first tn the homemaking class with Maxine Ewing taking third place. Eathel Ann Newton was elected as house president of the girls staying at Chi Omega for the ses sion, in which capacity she also acted as assembly usher and coun cil member. Gi^orge iJugan and Carlton Woodard were placed in responsible positions as assembly ushers and developed their arm muscles while fulfilling a part of their duties by furnishing man power to the belt line.
