John Bauder was severely In-
jured one day last week while cut-
ting wood on the C. H aig h t place
la Delight valley. He accidently
stepped on an axe which flew to­
ward him and cut a large deep gash
In the fleshy part of a leg above
the knee. Several stitches were
necessary to close the wound.

sult of an attack of flu.

A ten-gallon still. 100 pints of
beer and a gallon of wine, found on
the premises of John Simpson,
farm er living on the Black Butte
road south of Cottage Grove, led to
his arrest Monday afternoon on a
charge of possession of a still and
Intoxicating liquor.
In Justice court Tuesday he wae
fined S300 and sentenced to «0 days
In Jail.
The arrest was made by Deputy
Sheriffs McBride and Carlile and a
federal prohibition agent.
The parte of the «till were found
scattered about the ranch. The
boiler was found hidden In brush
about a hundred yards from the
house the colls in the barn, the
burner tn the house, and the dome
covering In the woodshed. The I
beer was found buried under a hay - i
mow In the barn, and the wine was
located in the house.
