Post Card Rate Confuses.
The new rate on postal cards
other than government cards is
causing much confusion upon the
part of those mailing them and
much trouble for postoffices. Any
private mailing card requires a two
cent stamp. Many arc yet mailing
them with only one-rent stamps at
tached. Others are attaching the
new one and ono-half cent stamp.
When insufficient postage is used,
the postal authorities have to noti
fy the addressee to send additional
postage, which is expensive for the
postoffice department, and causes
delay in delivery.
Government postal cards arc sold
nt the old rate of one cent each.

Cottage Grove’s Prosperity
Cottage Grove can be prosperous only when
folks in this community have set their hearts
in that direction and have contributed the energy
necessary to bring that condition about.
Cottage Grove will be prosperous in reality when every citizen has
assumed his or her share of civic responsibility
Community progress means good
government, clean minds, the spirit
of service, alleviation of poverty,’ab
sence of unemployment, increase of
cooperation and avoidance of waste..

Let us make our town more than a mere plot of ground on which we live.
Let us work toward what Cottage Grove should be. Then, with all
working together, “the ideal community” will inevitably be the comment
wherever the name of our town is mentioned.
