The mill, which will cut about 10,000 feet, will be located nine miles from Glendale. Mr. Harrel recently lost a mill by fire. Mrs. Ellen Burton and sister, Mrs. Mary Vaughn, of Eugene, visited for a few days last week at the C. W. Caldwell home, going on Saturday to Grants Pass for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. William Graham, recently of Omaha, Neb., were vis itors last week at the home of Mrs. Graham’s uncle, C. W. Caidwell. While here they enjoyed a trip to the fish hatchery on the McKenzie with the Caldwells. Mr. Graham is a graduate interne from a hos pital at Omaha and Mrs. Graham is a graduate nurse, nnd they are looking for a location. They have gone on to Elmira for a visit at the Elmer Caldwell home, after which they will go to Seattle. They were charmed with the beauty of the Oregon country and especially with that of the Cottage Grove vicinity. A daughter, Marjory Jean, was born Friday to Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Htitzel. Miss Virginia Bosley, who re cently returned from an extended visit in California, is spending the week with her mother and brother near Wendling. She will return to Cottage Grove Sunday for a short visit before going to Medford to visit the George Proctor family. Following that she will return to California to attend high school this winter. News of the sudden death of | Charles Berggren, formerly a resi dent of London, was received in this city Tuesday evening, Mr. Berggren having met his death that afternoon while at work in a log ging camp at Glenbrook, near Cor vallis. The body arrived hero yes terday afternoon. Funeral arrange ments have not yet been completed. Mr. Berggren was killed instantly when hit by a block of wood. In* is survived bv his widow and three children, Wayne Arleigh and Thel ma, of Glenbrook; his mother and two brothers, Mrs. Johanna Berg grew and Elmer and Alex Berggren, all of London. Mr. Berggren was born in Sweden January I, 1884, and came to the United States when but four years of age. He first lived in Wash iiigton, later coming to Oregon. He was married June 28, 1916, to Miss Bernice Tower, daughter of Mr. nnd Mrs. Grant Tower, of this city. Mrs. Grube Is IU in East. Mrs. Harry Grube, who left here in the fall with Mr. Grube, to spend a year at their old home in Punxsutawney, Pa., is in a serious physical condition following an operation, according to word re ceived l>y Mrs. Schofield Stewart, their daughter, last Saturday. Mrs. Stewart left immediately, necompan ied by her brother. Raymond Grube, his wife nnd son Joseph, of Dexter. Mrs. Grube was not expected to live at the time of the first mes sage but more rOcent word received by Mr. Stewart was that she still had a chance to recover. Frank Miller returned Sunday from Eugene where he had been in a hospital and is visiting with his grandmother, Mrs. Matilda Jones at Cottage Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Whipple are visiting with Mr. Whipple’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Finley Whipps. Mrs. Matilda Jones, of Cottage Grove, spent Saturday with her daughter, Mrs. Albert Rissue. Mr. and Mrs. Rolloy Morris, of Springfield, spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Brumbaugh. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Frost and son Harry' spent Saturday afternoon with Mr. Frost’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Heath.
