With the client he then went to a local bank to cash the check, but when the bank required the endorse ment of the attorney, since the client was unknown, the lawyer grew* cautious and put in a long distance call to the Marion bank to make sure of the authenticity of the check, while the client ‘ ‘ went out for a smoke.’’ The Marion bank declared that the check was n. g. and that the certification was a forgery. The client is still out for a “smoke.” Eugene to Abolish Road Signs. Rupture Expert COMING TO EUGENE Will Give Free Demonstration MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY AUGUST 4, 5 AND 6 AT OSBORN HOTEL from 10 a. m. to 4. p. m. THREE DAYS ONLY On the above date the noted rup ture appliance expert, C. F. Rcdlich, will give a free demonstration. You will at once realize the dif ference between his highly efficient, absolutely sanitary uppliancea and the inefficient uncomfortable, smelly and thoroughly unsanitary elastic web trusses with their bulky, plain* ly visible pads and their abomin able chafing legstraps or tho various mail order steel -or wire trusses which never fit right. All of these unscientific devices make your rup ture steadily worse instead of bet ter, as you well know. Mr. Red- lich’s appliances, scientifically fit- ted by an expert in person, will give security and comfort for years to come, not only to those with re- cent and small ruptures, but also to old, neglected cases. They are by far tho cheapest in tho long run. Many ruptures are now healed by these improved mechanical methods which formerly mwessitated opera tions; but do not delay. Children should never carry a rupture into manhood or woman hood, ns they can be easily restored to normal condition by n proper mechanical method. These clean and sanitary devices will hero be most appreciated. It will not cost you anything to be shown and a visit may mean a great deal to you and those depen dent on you.
