COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 27, 1923 PAGE SIX Neighborhood News ¡♦-------------------------------------- ♦ MOUNT VIEW Oil Wells Progressing (Special to The Sentinel.) Dec. 24.—The Christmas program of the school children, directed by Miss Snauer, was greatly enjoyed by mi overflowing houseful of pa trons and friends. The room a as beautifully decoruted with a tree, fireplace and other Christmas sym bols. The program consisted of 21 numbers, including recitations, songs, tableaux, drills and dialogs. Mr. mid Mrs. Claude Arne at tended the farmors’ union conven tion in Eugene last Wednesday. Mrs. Kate Mears was at the J. R. Cooley home several days last week. Mrs. W. D. Heath is again able to sit up. The coyote club has now paid bounties on four coyote scalps. Miss Sarah Kiley visited at the Sears home Friday night and at tended the Christmas program. The Waldo Milier family attended church in Cottage Grove Sunday mid were dinner guests ut the Goff home. Our local drillers ou Mount David continue to make most gratifying headway and are passing through oil indicat ing structures even at a much shallower depth than similar formations were encountered at Eugene; at the latter well a 3-foot layer of rich oil-bearing sand was passed through last week, all of which only further demonstrate the accuracy of those who are staking their reputation as scientific oil locators, depth only being needed to fulfill all prophecies made. Last week’s wonderful development at Half Moon Bay leaves no further proof needed as to who is right in the claim where oil veins are located, almost without ex ception high authorities in oil geology disputed the Sage- <)k«on Co.’s claims that abundance of oil existed in that region, it now transpires that the Sage-Olsons were right anti their opponents wrong; so too will they prove to be right as regards Oregon, just as they have been without exception in other localities where there predictions were questioned. A word to the wise is sufficient, get in with them while you can, or some day you will be too late. The New York stock exchange reports a rise in oil stock each week. An investment placed with the Sage-Olson Co. will be sure to increase your estate a little later on. For particulars see TOM AWBREY AT DURHAM’S. HEBRON. (Special to The Sentinel.) Dec. 24.—Mrs. J. A.
