company, states that he is certain
that oil will be struck somewhere
between 1500 and 3000 feet. The
drill has passed through three strata
of oil bearing sand, which is an
indication that oil in paying quan
tities is to be found in the near
future.

Eclipse of Sun Coming.
For the first time since 1918 an
eclipse of the sun, visible from Cot
tage Grove, is scheduled for Mon

last one, the display this year will
