Norman raised considerable fuss over being caught and brought his entire party in to swear that they were traveling 22 miles an hour. Upon leaving the city Norman shook his fist at the traf fic officer, with the statement that he was the chief of police of Seattle and would got tho officer out of a job in three days. Groat, now pastor emeritus of the Baptist church in this city, organized his first church in u com munity in Chickasaw, la. At about the same time a baby was born who was destined to bear the name of J. L. Wherry. Pastor Groat went on about his duties, which carried him to various states of the union. For many years he has been a resident of Cottago Grove. Saturday of last week Rev. Groat enjoyed a long visit with Rev. J. L. Wherry, of McMinnville, Ore., a missionary with the American Baptist Publication society. He was the baby born at tho time Rev. Groat organized his first church in Iowa 47 years before. Rev. Wherry grew to manhood ill Chickasaw county, and by a coincidence was converted, baptized, confirmed and ordained in the church organized by Rev. Groat. By nnother coin cidence, Rev.
