Several vocal numbers were given by a woman’s quartet composed of MrB. C. C. Cruson, Mrs. George Matthews, Mrs. Earl Arthur and Mrs. R. E. Short. Mrs. Elise Price accompanied at the piano. Mining of rich base ore iu the properties of the Cosmos Investment company in the Bohemia district is going on all the time, according to officials of the Seattle company who made a trip last week to their holdings, driving the first auto bile ever to reach the top of the mountain over the route taken. The company has a 50-ton concentrator at work. Recent tests from the 18- foot ore body show a valuation of $20 to the ton in gold and silver. The company, in cooperation with two or three other companies oper ating in the district, is now en deavoring to obtain the improve ment of about 10 miles of county road so they will be able to ship their ores to the smelters. The Cos mos company has built und main tained a good road several miles in length, but the county road is in very bad condition, they said, and improvements will have to be made before ore can be shipped. Disston is the nearest shipping point. This company now Ims a 600-foot tunnel with a 250-foot cross-cut and 450 feet of ore, and another tunnel 288 feet long with a cross cut at a depth of 60 feet with an 18-foot body of ore, according to members of the company who made the trip and who are Dr. George Warner, president; William Jen nings, secretary and treasurer; Emil Carl, vice president, W.
