CRESWELL – During a fundraiser dinner held Oct. 18 in the Creswell High
School commons, guest speaker Elizabeth Harter, at left, of Creswell, shares
her family’s experiences utilizing respite care, preschool and parenting
classes through the Creswell Family Relief Nursery, a satellite of FRN of
Cottage Grove, which works to prevent child abuse and neglect by building
on families’ strengths while shoring up weaknesses. At right, Harter draws
a raffl e winner’s name from a bowl held by FRN director of programs Crystal
Morrison, left, during the dinner. The event, which featured a Silent Auction,
Taco Bar buffet, Dessert Dash, raffl e, an educational slideshow and live
music by student musicians, raised about $11,000 to support FRN, reported
executive director Peggy Whalen. GINI DAVIS/THE CHRONICLE
