Vernonia Lions are
Ready for Jamboree
Lions Club of Vernonia will sell their pulled pork sandwich, elk chili, and
a new vegan sandwich at the Vernonia Friendship Jamboree August 5-7, 2022. The
award-winning elk chili is prepared by Lion Allen Marshall with professionally-
processed elk donated by two local hunters. The new vegan sandwich will be
prepared by master cook Lion Hobo Jack.
Lion Hobo Jack’s Vegetarian Pulled “Pork” sandwich is marinated and
slow roasted vegan “pork” (jackfruit), finished with custom Vernonia Lions
barbeque sauce, piled high on the bun and topped with fresh made coleslaw.
Guaranteed to make even the meatiest meat-eater smile!
All three can be purchased as sandwich only or as a meal with chips
and drink. The booth will be open from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will be put back into public service projects including
glasses and hearing aids for which the Lions are well known. The Lions Club of
Vernonia recently celebrated 75 years of service to the Vernonia Community.
