VRFPD March 17 2022 5 Vernonia Rural Fire Protection District The State of the July 4 th Vernonia Fireworks Show for 2022 Western Display Fireworks has raised the price of the show due to many factors. There has been an increase to costs on every side of the business… cost of fireworks, ocean freight, fuel and rental truck costs, as well as the increased regulations that govern the storage and transport of the 1.3G fireworks. Due to the above, the minimum cost for the fireworks show through Wester Display Fireworks has increased from $5,000 to $7,000. State Permit cost: $100 Total: $7,100 Funds left over from last year’s fireworks show: $1,344.52 Funds needed for this year’s show: $5,755.48 We have raised this amount in previous years, but we will need a focused effort to hit this number this year. The risk here is that we sign contracts and then do not raise enough funds. Each year we see bigger and bigger crowds, so let’s see what we can do to keep our Vernonia Fireworks show running! Any and all donations are welcome! Funds received over the $7,100 total will be used towards next year’s fund-raising efforts.
