Currently residential uses are only allowed as a conditional use when located over a permitted business. The applicant is proposing to change this to allow residential uses on the ground floor with a permitted business, as long as the residential use has a separate dedicated entrance. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Vernonia Planning Commission and City Council, will conduct a public hearing on a request by Troy Thomas to amend the Zoning Code as it relates to Chapters 9-01 of Title 9 to alter a conditionally permitted use in the General Commercial Zone. SAID PUBLIC HEARING will be held before the Vernonia Planning Commission on Thursday, July 16, 2020, and tentatively before the City Council on Monday, July 20, 2020 in the Council Chambers of Vernonia City Hall, 1001 Bridge Street, Vernonia, Oregon at or after 7:00 pm, at which time proponents and opponents of the proposed Zone Code Amendment will be heard.
