4 community bulletin board may2 2019 Head Start Recruiting Now Local Head Start programs are now recruiting 3 and 4 year olds for the 2019-20 school year. A large percent- age of students will be selected in June. Staff suggests that parents apply now to have their family included in the first selection. Heads Start offers a compre- hensive preschool experience free of charge to qualifying families. A de- velopmentally appropriate classroom curriculum taught by certified teachers offers all children the opportunity to be kindergarten ready. The program offers parents op- portunities to learn and grow along with their children; receive guidance to com- plete medical, dental and nutritional as- sessments; get on the job training in the early childhood field, and learn about local opportunities for the whole family. Children receive USDA ap- proved lunch plus breakfast and/or afternoon snack on each day of class. (Head Start and USDA are both equal opportunity providers.) He is about a year old and is such a love bug. He is a bigger kid, weighing in around 10 lbs. He is very friendly, likes to get pets, and does not seem to mind the other cats. We do not have a history on him so we are unsure how he is going to do with dogs in the home. Freddie will not be suitable for a home with young kids as he has a tendency to get over stimulated at times. He is very fun and loves to play with his toys. His adoption fee is $125 which includes all his vaccinations, his neuter, microchip, leukemia test, FIV test, and heart worm test. 2084 Oregon Street, St. Helens, OR 97051 Bella is about 45 lbs and is just a little over 6 years old. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender after she got herself into some trouble with some chickens. This girl is amazing; she loves other dogs, kids, and she doesn't even mind cats. She is going to do best in a home where she won’t be left alone, and one with other dogs, as she likes to hang out with them and becomes distressed when isolated. She is wonderful on her leash and is very happy going for walks and getting loves. If you are interested in meeting Bella please don't hesitate to call 503-397-4353 or email animalwelfare@columbiahumane.org to make arrangements. All adoptions start by having an approved application on file which can be sent to you by email upon your request or can be found on our website. Bella's adoption fee is $250. She is spayed, current on her vaccines, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms. Phone: 503-397-4353 E-mail: info@columbiahumane.org Web: www.columbiahumane.org
