VVAA, VRFPD Members Receive Life Saving Coins, Citation
Members of the Vernonia Volunteer Ambulance Association
(VVAA) and the Vernonia Rural Fire Protection District (VRFPD)
received Life Saving Coin Awards on April 15, 2019 for various heroic
acts. Receiving the awards were Brandi Abney, Training Captain Will
Steinweg, Flo Lennox, Chief Dean Smith, Trish Smith, Kristina McCord,
and Bailey Wegner. Wegner also received a Unit Citation from the State
of Oregon Emergency Medical Services for providing mutual aid to
Washington County Emergency Medical Services during a Mass Casualty
Incident (MCI) on Highway 26. Presenting the awards were J.D. Fuiten,
Larry Boxman, and Hailey Palmore from Metro West Ambulance.
