Wauna Credit Union Receives Diamond Award
Recognized for Outstanding
Marketing, Business Development
Achievements
Wauna Credit Union (WCU)
based in Clatskanie, was recently hon-
ored with a Credit Union National As-
sociation (CUNA) Diamond Award,
which recognizes outstanding market-
ing and business development achieve-
ments in the credit union industry.
The award was presented by
the CUNA Marketing & Business De-
velopment Council, a national network
comprised of over 1,300 credit union
marketing and business development
professionals. Awards are given in each
of 36 categories ranging from advertis-
ing to community events and beyond.
WCU has branches located in
Vernonia, Clatskanie, St. Helens, Scap-
poose, Astoria, and Warrenton, Oregon.
“It was such an honor to have
WCU recognized by our industry peers
for a ‘member’ focused video produc-
tion,” said Debi Smiley, Chief Market-
ing Officer at WCU. “I am so proud to
be involved with a financial marketing
community that exists to support one
another and has such a passion to serve
our members and communities.”
WCU won for its entry en-
titled, “Fisherman Poet,” a short vid-
eo portraying WCU member Dave
Densmore, an Astorian commer-
cial fisherman and poet. The video

“The hard work displayed by
these credit unions always leaves us
feeling inspired and passionate about
what we do,” said Amy McGraw,
Chair of the CUNA Marketing & Busi-
ness Development Council’s Diamond
Awards Committee and VP Marketing,
Tropical Financial CU. “Receiving this
award further highlights the dedication
they have for our movement and their
members.”
Award winners were recog-
nized at the council’s 26 th annual con-
ference held March 20-23 in Las Vegas.

(CCCC) was extremely competitive.

tural Trust in 2006, the CCCC makes
grants to promote heritage, arts, and hu-

Notice Summary
VERNONIA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 47J is
distributing a request for proposals (RFP) for
construction of a new steel-framed two-story
school building (II-B. Fully Sprinklered) that
houses four (4) classrooms and is approximately
5,754 sf.
The project is the construction of a (4)
Classroom Addition:
- Construction of a new approximately 5,754 sf
steel framed two story school building.
- The building is primarily slab-on-grade,
matching the existing facility.
- The site location for the addition is relatively
flat.
- Other components described in the contract
documents.
The new addition will be an extension to the
existing Vernonia Schools building, the site is
constrained, and construction activities will
need to be performed to minimize disturbance
to the existing facility. The delivery method for
this project will be based on Design, Bid, Build
program.
