community november15 2018 Local Films Wanted for Clatskanie Film Festival An indie film festival of short films is coming to Clatskanie, and its promoters, Ray and Migdalia Ether- idge, are inviting filmmakers from Oregon and Washington to submit their films for consideration. Films must be no longer than 15 minutes, and may be of any genre, such as comedy, drama, horror, animation, or documentary. Filmmakers from any- where in the world are eligible to en- ter. The Etheridges say that the films for the program will be selected by a panel of five judges on a point sys- tem. The films will be graded on their technical merits, acting, script, and entertainment value. Mrs. Etheridge adds that the judges “are not looking for home movies or silly you tube vid- eos, but for serious, well made films with good stories.” Films with the highest points will be screened at the festival, which will take place at the Clatskanie Cultural Center in August of next year. Award certificates will be presented in many categories; Mr. Etheridge says they expect to receive about 150 films, and 40 will be se- lected for the day long event. If you would like further information on how to submit your film, you can email the Etheridges at clatskaniefilmfest@ya- hoo.com.
