Readers Lend Their Voices...
To the Editor,
I prefer not to speak of those
I do not know. So let me say some-
thing about someone I do know. Dale
Webb, for several years now, has been
a loyal servant of the community, and
a champion for the public good. Dale
has served as a member of the Public
Works Committee for years, and on
the Budget Committee as of late. He
has been a financial hawk; protecting
your tax and utility dollars. He has
championed street, water and sewer
projects, while keeping a vigilant eye
on your money. Dale has been scep-
tical, unswayed by conjecture, and
only convinced by the facts. Qualities
we want and need in our leaders. He
has at the same time frustrated and

servant. The result thereof has always
led me down the better path.
Dale is a lifelong Vernonian,
with an appreciation of our past and a
realist vision of our future. There’s no
more qualified or experienced candi-
date on the ballot than Dale. Do your-
self, and the community a favor...
vote Dale Webb for City Council.

Purr-fect Pals
Binxy, Binxy the wonder cat! This kid will be sure to make your
heart smile. Binx came to us when he couldn't find a place to
go, he had what we thought at the time was an upper respiratory
infection. After several different antibiotics and some pretty
expensive testing, he has basically what is called a chronic cold.
The vets think he is not infectious and there is a chance he will
grow out of it, he just has times when his eyes water and he
sneezes a lot. Binx is also part of our great CatPawsative
training program so we are teaching him to do all kinds of neat
tricks like jump through a hoop and give a high five when asked.
This special little lady deserves to be loved to the
moon and back. She came to the shelter via one of
our shelter partners and so far in her two years she’s
had a pretty tough life. She gets along with other
dogs, however we would not recommend that she be
placed with female dogs or little dogs. We would
recommend her match be at least 45-50 lbs as she
is a substantial girl and doesn't really recognize her
size. It is unknown at this time how she is going to
do with cats or kids. Her adopters are going to have
to be understanding and come and visit her a few times prior to going home.
At CHS the health and welfare of the animals in our care is our number one priority. We are dedicated to helping our adoptive families find that one perfect fit that will
complete their family. Please email or call so that we can talk to you about your needs and wants in a new family member prior to just arriving at the kennels.
