In Memory of...
Sandra Carol (Jackson) Gamroth
Sandra Carol (Jackson) Gam-
roth was born May 12, 1944 in Vanport,
Oregon, the daughter of the late James
C. Jackson and Anna Belle (Gibbs) Jack-
son. She was raised and received her
education in Banks and Buxton, Oregon.
She was united in marriage to
Robert G. Gamroth in 1960 and cel-
ebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary
in 2012. They resided in St. Helens,
Oregon until 1968 when they moved to
Scappoose. They lived in Scappoose
until 1994 when they moved to Man-
ning, Oregon. After her husband Rob-
ert died, she moved to North Plains to
live with her daughter and son-in-law
for three years. In 2017 she moved to
Hazle Township, Pennsylvania to live
with her oldest living son and daughter-
in-law, where she resided until her death
on March 16, 2018.
While living in Scappoose and
Manning Sandra worked in electronics
assembly and quality control for Elec-
tronics Diversified, Inc.
Her special interests were read-
ing, puzzle books, browsing through
stores, playing card and dice games, and
going to bingo with her husband Rob-
ert. She enjoyed going to garage sales
and farmers markets. She also enjoyed
spending time and talking to her family.
She was preceded in death by
her husband Robert, her son Robert, and
her parents James and Anna Jackson,
also her sisters Joyce Miller, Sue Cu-
tright, and Yvonne Wise, and her brother
Ralph Craft.
Survivors include her son Mat-
thew Gamroth of Hazle Township, Penn-
sylvania, her son and daughter-in-law
Carl and Sonia Gamroth of Hillsboro,
her son and daughter-in-law Donald
and Venus Gamroth of Scappoose, her
son Tracy Gamroth of Scappoose, her
daughter and son-in-law Carol and Pat-
rick Pollard of North Plains, and her son
and daughter-in-law Joseph and Robin
Gamroth of Christmas Valley. She is
also survived by her sister and brother-
in-law Jackie and Leo Becker, her sister
Ann Hurse, her brother and sister-in-law
Bill and Linda Jackson, her brother and
sister-in-law James and Brenda Jackson,
and her sister-in-law Jean Forest and
brother-in-law Jim Gamroth.
Also surviving are her seven-
teen grandchildren, Matthew Gamroth,
Timothy Gamroth, and Robert Gamroth;
Brian Gamroth, Tiffany Villa, and Re-
becca Gamroth; Kara McBride, Kevin
Gatlin, and Ashley Bell; Danielle Con-
nell, Brendan O’Connell, and Kieran
Connell; David Bello, Jason Bello, Brad
Barber, Mathew Barber, and Alexa Mar-
tin; and her eighteen great grandchil-
dren.
A Graveside Service was held at
Buxton Cemetery in Banks, Oregon.

Harold W. “Bud” Weigand
Harold W. “Bud” Weigand, 93,
a former resident of the Vernonia com-
munity, late of Hillsboro, Oregon, died
Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at the
Legacy Hopewell House Hospice in
Portland.
Graveside Services were held
on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 1:00
pm at the Vernonia Memorial Cemetery,
2080 Bridge Street in Vernonia with Pas-
tor Grant Willliams officiating. Conclud-
ing Rites with a Flag Honor Presenta-
tion followed under the direction of the
United States Navy. Family and friends
were invited to attend a reception imme-
diately following the cemetery rites, at
the home of Steve and Marilyn Landers
in Vernonia.
Harold William Weigand was
born November 13, 1924 in Moscow,
Idaho, the son of the late Louis Weigand
and Hattie Mae (Cameron) Weigand. He
was raised and received his education in
the Moscow community.
He joined the United States
Navy on November 20, 1942 in Mos-
cow, Idaho. Bud served for four years
until receiving his discharge on February
2, 1946 in Bremerton, Washington. He
served on the USS Prince William, the
USS Haggard, and the USS Bordelon.
Bud was united in marriage
to Barbara Ann Lolley on October 26,
1957 in Longview, Washington. They
celebrated their 60 th wedding anniver-
sary this past October. Following their
marriage they resided in the Vernonia
community until 1996 when they moved
to the Hillsboro community where they
have resided since.
He worked in the logging indus-
try for Crown Zellerbach in Vernonia for
twenty-five years from 1959 to 1983.
For most of his career he was a surveyor.
He loved being in the woods. Bud retired
at the age of fifty-nine years old as a con-
tract supervisor.
While living in the Vernonia
community he served as a volunteer for
the Vernonia Fire Department for many
years.
Among his special interests he
enjoyed sports, having been supportive
of his grandchildren’s events.
He was preceded in death by his
parents Louis and Hattie Weigand, and
his sister Marie Carty.
Survivors include his wife
Barbara Weigand of the family home
in Hillsboro; his daughter and son-in-
law Kristen and Bill Schleich of Both-
ell, Washington, and his three sons and
daughters-in-law, Steve and Marilyn
Landers of Vernonia, Gaylen and Sue
Weigand of Canby, and Brien and Chris-
tine Weigand of Gladstone.
Also surviving are his seven
grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole
and Jeff Abbott of Seattle, Ben Schleich
of Seattle, Molly and Ben Challman of
Lynnwood, Washington, Jason and Hei-
di Landers of Irvine, California, Joshua
Landers of Gaston, Joreigh Landers of
Vernonia, and Camille Mack of Wilson-
ville, Oregon; his five great-grandchil-
dren, Lucy Challman, Ellie Challman,
Maggie Challman, Blake Caldwell, and
Brett Landers; and several nieces and
nephews.
The family suggests that re-
membrances may be contributions to the
Disabled American Veterans, Portland
Chapter #1, 8725 N.E. Sandy Blvd.,
Portland, OR 97220, in his memory.

Pastor Barrett “Wayne” Marr
Pastor Barrett “Wayne” Marr of
Vernonia, born March 23, 1933, went to
be with the Lord on Monday, March 26,
2018 at 7:41 pm at Tuality Hospital in
Hillsboro.
Born in Licking, Missouri he
graduated from North Central Bible Col-
lege in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1955.
Wayne’s passion was to see souls saved
and lives transformed through the power
of Jesus. He pastored churches in North
Dakota, Minnesota, California, Arizona,
and Idaho. His final pastorate position
was in Vernonia, upon his death.
Wayne was an avid fisherman.
He loved to laugh and share funny sto-
ries and jokes. His family and friends
will always remember how he laughed
so hard before he could even finish a
story.
He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Lois Marr. He is survived
by his second wife Maureene Marr of
15 years; his children Wanda Green
and husband Neil Green of Marysville,
Washington, Royal Marr and his wife
Yolanta Marr of Lynnwood, Washing-
ton, and Sharman Marr of Ehrenberg,
Arizona; 3 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren. He also leaves behind
his brother David Marr and wife Patt of
East Moline, Illinois, his sister Eda Mae
Romandine of Crete, Illinois; as well as
nieces and nephews. Wayne is loved and
will be missed by countless people.
A Celebration of Life will be
held at Grace Family Fellowship on Sat-
urday, April 7 at 11:00 am. There will be
a potluck following at 12:00 pm - please
bring a dish if you are able. There will be
a graveside service at 3:00 pm held at the
Aurora Community Cemetery.

buildings, removal and re-installation of brick pavers along both sides of Bridge
