The Circus Comes to Town! Metro West EMT and Paramedic
The Lions Club of Vernonia sponsored the Culpepper &
Merriweather Circus on Memorial Day, May 29 at Hawkins Park.
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is one of the last traveling
“Big Top” American circuses left. The public was invited to come
early that day to see the “Big Top” go up and learn about circus
history. The circus was very well attended, the weather was
perfect, and it was enjoyed by everyone, especially the kids.
Lions Club of Vernonia members (l to r) Allen Marshall, Chris
McGrane, Tommy Sherman, Brenda Schaumburg, and Randal
Harvey joined the lion and the lion tamer under the big top.
