In Memory of...
Cleone Marie Anderson
Time stood still on March 28th
2017, as Cleone Marie (Hecker) Ander-
son, 69, died peacefully at her home in
Birkenfeld. She was surrounded by her
family, as she went home, to the loving
hands of her Lord.
Cleone was born in Woodburn,
Oregon to Oliver and Lora Hecker. She
was raised in the Mollola and Toledo
areas before moving to Portland with
her family. After attending high school,
Cleone graduated from Phagen Beauty
College as a licenced Cosmotologist.
She was very active and loved being
outdoors. Fishing and swimming were
among her favorite things to do.
She was united in marriage to

Dave Anderson on April 22,1967. They
were 26 days away from celebrating
their 50th Wedding Anniversary when
she passed.
In 1976,Cleone moved to a
small farm outside of Vernonia with her
family.There she raised three children,
worked as a beautician, and was involved
in numerous community activities, some
of which include the St. Mary’s Quilt
Fair (where she was a Master Quilter),
the Vernonia Food Bank, Girl Scouts/
Boy Scouts, the Booster Club and many
more.
Cleone loved quilting and gar-
dening. She was very accomplished at
both, always learning. Most of all, she
loved spending time with her grandchil-
dren. She was a wonderful grandmother,
the kind that makes you feel like you’re
the only person in the world. She will be
remembered as a compassionate, dedi-
cated, loyal and loving person, leaving
an indelible mark on the hearts of all
who knew her.
She was preceded in death by
her father Oliver, mother Lora, and
brother Ron.
She is survived by her husband
Dave Anderson of Birkenfeld, son David
Anderson of Vernonia, daughter Dawn
Grenier of Astoria, and son Brian An-
derson of Birkenfeld; her brother Loren
Hecker and wife Vivian Jones-Hecker
of Clackamas, sister Sharon Tappert
of Vancouver; WA; her grandchildren,
Stacia Knurek, Kahli Anderson, Jona-
thon Anderson, Melora Grenier, Jayson
Hecker, Oliver Anderson, Jeremy Heck-
er, and Tatem Anderson. She also leaves
behind numerous loving relatives and
close friends.
Private service to be held.
Eva Rosalie McCoy
July 2, 1938 - April 1, 2017
Eva R. McCoy, 78, a resident of
the Vernonia community, died Saturday,
April 1, 2017 at her home.
A Memorial Service will be
held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Grace
Family Fellowship Church, 957 State
Avenue in Vernonia.
Family and friends are invited to
attend a potluck following the service.
Private Cremation Rites have
been held at Hoyt Crematory in Forest
Grove.
Eva Rosalie McCoy was born
on July 2, 1938 in Vernonia, Oregon, the
daughter of the late Claire J. and Beau-
lah M. (Kelly) Badley. She was raised
and received her education in the Verno-
nia community.
She was united in marriage to
David A. McCoy in 1957 in Vernonia at
the family home. Following their mar-
riage they made their home in the com-
munities of Vernonia, Lake Charles,
Louisiana, and various cities in Wash-
ington. They later divorced.
Eva worked as a custodian for
the Vernonia School District for 10 years

evening, May 2, 2017, at 7:00 pm at the Mist-Birkenfeld Main Station located at 12525 Highway
202. This is a meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person
may attend this meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

NOTICE OF BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING
A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Vernonia School District 47J, Columbia County, State of Oregon,
on the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, will be held at 1000 Missouri Street, Vernonia Oregon.
The meeting will take place on May 2, 2017 at 6:00 PM
until her retirement in 2000 at the age of
61.
She was a member of the Grace
Family Fellowship in Vernonia; the Ver-
nonia Senior Center and Vernonia Cares.
Among her special interests,
Eva enjoyed crafts, beach trips, volun-
teering, and family get-togethers with
her church family.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, Claire J. and Beaulah M. Badley
and her brother Lenord Badley, her son
David R. McCoy.
Survivors include her siblings
and their spouses, sister Peggy Y. Helvie
and Urban Helvie of Albuquerque, New
Mexico, sister Penny R. Dean of Verno-
nia, Oregon, and sister-in-law Carolyn
Badley of Houston, Texas.
Also surviving are her children,
son Patrick McCoy and Sharon of Ka-
lispell, Montana, daughter Margarget
Gilbertson and Ronald of Mile City,
Montana, daughter-in-law Sue McCoy
of Forest Grove; niece Tina Brewing-
ton and Jeff of Vernonia; cousin Richard
Meyer and Cathy of Vernonia; numerous
nieces and nephews, cousins, grandchil-
dren, great grandchildren, great great
grandchildren.
The family suggests that remem-
brances may be contributions to Verno-
nia Cares Food Bank, Inc., PO Box 126,
Vernonia, OR 97064, in her memory.
