Warren resident Kiara Single is
among four young women vying for the title
of 2017 Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador.
Single will represent Columbia County
during the Oregon Dairy Women’s 58th
annual Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador
Coronation
Banquet,
Saturday, January 21,
2017 at the Salem
Convention Center.
The evening will
begin with an opportunity
to meet and greet 2016

Ambassador
Sara
Pierson, and 2016 First
Alternate Oregon Dairy
Princess-Ambassador
Gina Atsma, along with
the other 2017 finalists.
The event begins with a

Single will arrive with the other
contestants and judges Friday morning for
a full two days of interviews, speeches and
prepared commercials promoting dairy
products. The winner will be crowned at the
conclusion of Saturday’s banquet.
For the past year, Single has been busy
representing Columbia County, promoting
dairy products, educating the public about
nutrition and enlightening her community
about life on a dairy farm at local schools,
fairs and events.
Single is the daughter of John and
Suzie Single. John is the Production Planner
at Kroger Swan Island Milk Processing Plant.
Single
is
currently
studying

active in 4-H participating in everything
from foods and nutrition to raising poultry.

classroom assistant and
tutor. Following graduation
she hopes to become a
second grade teacher.
“It would be an
honor to travel and share
information
about
the
dairy industry and the
nutritional benefits of dairy
products,” says Single. “It
is also an opportunity that
would help me develop the
skills that I will need as a
teacher.” She looks forward
to hundreds of elementary
school presentations, civic
organization speaking engagements and
public appearances if chosen for the 2017
title.
The other state finalists include: Faith
Wilson of Linn and Benton Counties, Emma
Coleman of Marion County and Kortni
Ragsdale of Washington County.
Oregon Dairy Women (ODW) is an all-
