Where Do You Read The Voice?
During a recent trip to San Diego the Langmaid family visited
the UCSD Scripps Institute of Oceanography campus and the
Birch Aquarium. Below: Rachel relaxes while Henry visits with a
volunteer. Right: Bill reads the Voice while
Calvin and Henry look for sea life.
Banks Pharmacy Delivery Service
a Pharmacy in St. Helens
stopped doing deliveries to
the Vernonia area following
the 2007 fl ood, and the Ver-
nonia Pharmacy closed its
doors. “People are thrilled,”
says Holly. “It’s like deliver-
ing fl owers. It makes people
so happy to have their pre-
scriptions delivered to their
door, or even just to the
Health Center, so they don’t
have to drive down the dan-
gerous hill.”
In addition to pick-
ing up at the Vernonia Health
Center or having the Vaughns
deliver to your home, Banks
Pharmacy also offers mail
order service to customers in
Vernonia.
Wayne and Holly Vaughn are delivering
prescriptions in Vernonia for Banks Pharmacy.
Banks
Pharmacy
charges customers
an extra $2.00 to de-
liver to the Health
Center and $4.00
for home delivery
or mail order. The
service charge is
all added on to the
cost up-front; the
Vaughns handle no
money and are paid
by Banks Pharmacy.
Holly says

are really important to him and to us. It
really is a small town kind of service.”
Both Holly and Wayne were
EMTs who volunteered with the Ver-
nonia Ambulance and have years of
experience helping out their neighbors,
friends, and community with their medi-
cal needs.
The service is really more than
just a delivery service. The people that
use the service often live alone or don’t
get out into the community much and
need to see a friendly face every so of-
ten, or have someone check in on them
and make sure they are doing alright.
“We have so many house-bound people,
and people who don’t drive, or shouldn’t
be driving, in this community,” says
Holly.
In addition to prescriptions, the
Vaughns can also deliver other over-the-
counter medical supplies, like bandages,
eye drops, cold medicines, or other items
the pharmacy carries in stock. Holly
says Banks Pharmacy can also fi ll pet
prescriptions at very reasonable prices.
Banks Pharmacy is open Monday
through Friday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm and
Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. You can
reach them at (503) 324-5780. They
are located at 12350 NW Main Street,
