David and Heather Weller of
Vernonia are pleased to announce the
birth of their son, Lucas Carter Weller
on December 30, 2016 at 6:07 pm.
Lucas was born at Tuality Hospital and
weighed 8lbs 5oz and measured 21.5’’
long. He joins two year old brother
Caleb. Grandparents are Dennis and
Dianne Weller of Vernonia, OR and
Ken and Shelli Wanvig of Sherwood,
OR. Great grandparents are Joyce
Weller of Vernonia, OR, Patricia Frye
of Sherwood, OR, DJ and Shirley
Dickey of Portland, OR, and Willard
Wanvig of Clackamas, OR. Great,
Great Grandma is Eleanor Thompson
of Vernonia, OR.

In Memory of...
Brian Franck
Brian Franck, age 54, died
peacefully at home on December 14,
2016.
He is survived by his wife Ann
Franck, her daughters Leigh Halverson
and Dana DelBello, his mother Ilene
Franck, brothers David and Lyle Franck,
and sisters Lucy Warren and Carole
Shaw. He is preceded by his father
Charles Franck.
Brian was born on March 2,
1962 and raised in Forest Grove, Or-
egon. He graduated from Forest Grove
High School in 1980 where he was on
the track team, attended Lane Commu-
nity College in Eugene, and worked at
Wauna Federal Credit Union in Verno-
nia.
Brian was a devoted husband,
son, brother, co-worker and friend. He
enjoyed camping, kayaking and watch-
ing sports, especially his Blazers. His
kindness, smile and joyous nature
touched many lives. The Vernonia com-
munity has lost a very gentle, loving, and
caring citizen.
He lived a good life and was
a wonderful example of how people
should treat one another. He will be
deeply missed by his family and friends
and all who knew him.
The family would like to thank
Dr. Kristian Enestvedt and Danielle Ver-
mette at OHSU for their genuine loving
care.
A Memorial service to celebrate
Brian’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on
Saturday, January 14, 2017 (please note
change) at Cedar Ridge, 18062 Keasey
Road, Vernonia, OR 97064

made in his name to Community Home

David Lee Christy
David Lee Christy, age 68, a res-
ident of the Vernonia community, died
Saturday morning, December 10, 2016
at his home.
Private Cremation Rites were
held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest
Grove.
David Lee Christy was born Oc-
tober 1, 1948 in Bend, Oregon, the son
of the late Charles Christy and Maxine
(Anderson) Christy. He was raised and
received his education in the Aloha com-
munity, having been a graduate of the
Aloha High School Class of 1968.
He was united in marriage to
Nancy Brisdin in 1972. Following their
marriage they resided in the Aloha com-
munity. They later divorced.
David was a Veteran of the Ko-
rean confl ict, having joined the United
States Army on May 22, 1968. He served
for two years, until he received his hon-
orable discharge on May 7, 1970.
He had worked as a horse
breeder for many years, until he retired.
Among his special interests he enjoyed
hunting and packing with horses.
David was preceded in death by
his parents, Charles and Maxine Christy.
Survivors include his three
children and their spouses, Lisa and
Craig Jolly of Salem, Oregon; David C.
Christy of Vernonia, Oregon; and Erica
and Steve Rogers of Aloha, Oregon; his
brother, Wayne Christy of Vernonia, Or-
egon; and his sister, Cheryl Christy of
Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Also surviving are his eight
grandchildren, Cameron, Andrew, Bran-
don, Jacob, Isabella, Parker, Hunter and
Ashton; his two great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
Tualatin Valley Funeral Alterna-
tives in Hillsboro is entrusted with the
arrangements.
