Vernonia Dental Welcomes New Dental Hygienist
Vernonia Dental is pleased to welcome the
newest member of their staff, dental hygienist Jillona
(Jill) Frangipani. Frangipani will be working in the
Vernonia Dental office on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Frangipani grew up in the small town of Dur-
kee outside of Baker City in eastern Oregon and gradu-
ated from Baker High School in 2008. She says she
is named after her mother’s best friend Jillona, but
goes by Jill. She attended Pacific University in Forest
Grove, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2012
and then studied in the Dental Hygiene program there,
graduating in 2016.
While at Pacific University she met her hus-
band, Daniel Frangipani who is originally from Port-
land. The two were married in 2014 and currently live
outside Scappoose on the Scappoose Vernonia High-
way. “I grew up in a small community and he really
likes the outdoors so we both agreed to move out to

Columbia County,” says Frangipani. “We both
just fell in love with it – it’s so beautiful!”
As a dental hygienist Frangipani exams
patient’s oral health including the health and
cleaning of teeth and gums, and also educates and
provides pointers for patients on how to improve
and maintain their oral hygiene and prevent dis-
ease.
Frangipani says she became interested
in the dental field because her uncle, Dr. Todd
Chandler, was a dentist in Baker City, where she
helped in the office while in high school. “I really
liked being around the profession and really liked
the atmosphere in his office,” she says. “That sort
of piqued my interest in a dental hygiene career
and I just followed through with it.”
Frangipani says she hopes to get estab-
lished in Vernonia and build relationships and get
involved in the community.
