Bridge Street Bits
By Karen Miller
Even though the weather was hot
there was a nice turnout for our Senior
Center picnic on August 19. Thank you to all
who came and who helped set up, provide
food, did the barbecuing, hauled chairs and
tables. You were appreciated. Back together
again were the Golden Oldies who provided
musical entertainment. Good to hear Pat Ray,
Art Isaason, Venita Volpp, Art Dummer, Ellie
Thompson, our yodeler and former My Fair
Lady Queen Necia Dewitt, together again and
newcomer Roy Behnke on keyboard. The band
was enjoyed by all.
PLEASE NOTE for those of you who are taking
advantage of the meal certificates, you may
see Pat Ray at the Learning Center Office from
10:00 am to Noon on the FIRST and SECOND
Monday. Please note this time change. Also,
ANY donations would be appreciated to keep
this program going and serving seniors in
need. Thank you to all.
THANK YOU a few weeks back to Romanna and
Pauline for decorating tables for the My Fair
Lady Princesses and our own Vernonia Queen
Claudia OBlack who enjoyed their pampering
time here in town. Romanna and Pauline
both have been instrumental in putting things
together; Romanna with her decorating skills
and Pauline alongside make a great team!
