large and tough tournament schedule this
season, including a return to the Oregon
Classic in Bend, the premier tournament
each year, on January 15-16. “Some of
these kids will be pushing the 50 match
limit this year.”
“This is a good group of kids
and I’m really excited
about the season,” says
Barnes.
The Loggers have three
meets scheduled at home
this season: on Decem-
ber 10 against Warrenton
and Clatskanie; on Janu-
ary 12 against Knappa;
and a three way meet on
February 2. They open
their season on December
4 at the Harrisburg Tour-
nament and also wrestle
close to home at the Clats-
kanie Tournament on De-
cember 29 and in Banks
at the Hank Schmidlin In-
vitational on January 30. Other dates to
remember: January 2 is the Bob Bishop
Invitational, January 8-9 is the Pac-Rim
Tournament, the District Tournament is
February 12-13 and the State Tourna-
ment is February 26-27. Girl’s tourna-
ments are scheduled for January 18 at
the Oregon Classic, January 30 at Hood
River and February 6 is state qualifying.
