Vanaken. She was raised and received
her education in the Forest Grove
community, having been a graduate of
the Forest Grove High School Class of
1961.

She was united in marriage
to Everett “Monte” Marshall on July
28, 1962 in the St. Anthony’s Parish
in Forest Grove. They celebrated their
47th Wedding Anniversary this past
July. Following their marriage they have
made their home in the Forest Grove
community.

She was a lifelong member of
St. Anthony’s Parish in Forest Grove and
a member of the Web Foot Volk Walkers.
One of her passions was Volks Walking,
in 10K, 6.2 mile structure walks and
collecting medals for her participation,
when available. Sandy had completed
229 walks before 1998. She and Monte
were two of the first walkers to complete
walks in thirty-six counties of Oregon.

Among her special interests, she
enjoyed boating, camping, waterskiing
and visiting the Oregon coast. She also
enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening,
decorating, completing the puzzles in the
morning paper and she had a special love
of spending time with her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by
her parents, Bud and Martha Vanaken.

Survivors include her husband,
Monte Marshall of the family home in

grandchildren, Kaden Lucas, Ryder
