Creature Comforts ~ New This Month
By Michal Smith
Creatures is kicking off the
month with a full blown sidewalk sale
featuring items used and new from back
stock to overstock, and from under stock
to one of a kinds! There will be items for
sale in all animal categories as well as
several boxes of books on every animal
topic you can imagine! Sale will begin
Thursday, June 5 th and run through 5pm
on Saturday, June 7 th . DON’T MISS IT!!
Huge deals and steals will amaze you no
doubt about it. This will be our valiant
attempt to gain even more floor and stor-
age room for even more inventory!! The
Melissa and Doug toys and products are
hugely popular and we need to bring
in more great items and great gifts for
birthday parties, etc. Horse tack has been
a great seller and we’re bringing in more
of that as well!
Also, new this month we’re
featuring the sale of “paw print” ear-
rings. These are handmade locally by
Kim Tierney. Kim’s work is well known
and her jewelry creations have been
shown and sold at craft fairs and exhibits
around the Portland Metro area. All pro-
ceeds from the earring sales at Creatures
will go towards the efforts of our local
feral cat spay and neuter project in Ver-
nonia. The task of catching these kitties
requires items such as food, blankets,
materials for shelters, often medications
and first aid supplies and others. Please
consider purchasing a pair and as an
added bonus, Creatures will take $1 off
your entire purchase anytime a customer
comes in wearing a pair they purchased
here throughout the month of June!
Speaking of handmade and lo-
cal~ come in and see hand crafted writ-
ing pens from Kimo’s Pens which feature
a rifle and bullet style casing with exotic
hardwood or antler, and Miss Summer
D’s animal artwork. Summer captures
the spirit and life of each animal she
sketches in a very talented and unique
delivery style. Sketches are available for
sale in the store or she can be commis-
sioned directly to sketch your pet. These
artists’ work can be seen in person in the
store while they last.
