Readers Lend Their Voices...
To the Editor,

On behalf of Vernonia Cares
Food Bank, I would like to commend
the strong community support of the
Holiday Food Boxes. This project
was only possible through generous
donations via food drives, financial
donations, and multiple hours of
volunteer labor. Your local food bank
provided 180 households, containing
over 600 people, with the turkey
and groceries for their Christmas
meal. Please see the pictures, located
elsewhere in this publication, for some
of the people and food items which
were generously donated. Thank
you, one and all, for caring with this
food bank about our community and
working to make this a better place.
You are amazing!
Sandy Welch, Exec Director
Vernonia Cares Food Bank
you and your support we raised almost
$2,000 this year for new LED lights
for our town, and it helped to pay for a
new updated sleigh at the tree lighting.

We would also like to thank
the family that donated the sleigh to us.
We greatly appreciate it, and it was fun
making it look new again!

Thank you as well to everyone
who donated supplies or time to help
make this town look so great, as well
as everyone who helped with the
individual events and competitions.
We are blessed to have you all! A
special thanks to the actors and staff
from Bag and Baggage who performed
A Christmas Carol at the Grange. What
a wonderful gift to our community.

We look forward to next year,
and have some great ideas that will
make our town look even more festive!
Our committee meeting schedule can
be found on the Chamber of Commerce
website.
