Virgo (August 24- September 22) Clarity
and a stronger sense of purpose are with
you this month. Money matters tend to be
a focus. You may need to get serious about
your finances towards the end of the month.
It is important to get all of your paperwork in
order. Around the 12th, a relationship matter
can come to light. Your powers of attraction
are especially strong until the 14th, and your
persuasive abilities are powerful from the
9th-25th.
Libra (September 23- October 22) Work
done in solitude is your best bet this month.
The last week of September brings more
outgoing energy and a strong desire to
mingle. Friendships become especially lively.
Some will be making a new, very positive
connection with a helpful person. Someone
could be questioning your character.
Challenges can be overcome and bonds
strengthened from the 14th on. Personal
charisma can win the day.
Scorpio (October 23- November 21) Your

Kay Files Civil Action Lawsuit

Michael Kay was employed
by the City of Vernonia for nine years
as a police officer, Sergeant, acting
Chief and Captain. He was terminated
by the City in 2011 following several
investigations into his conduct. He
was later decertified by DPSST for
ethics violations. In 2013 he lost an
employment arbitration hearing that
reviewed his termination.
The current lawsuit claims
that, as result of various due process
violations and breeches of law, Michael
Kay was unfairly terminated and
decertified by DPSST and that he lost
wages, his retirement and his career.
The lawsuit further states that Kay was
intentionally deprived of his rights by
the defendants who engaged in illegal,
malicious and wrongful conduct
together and individually. The lawsuit
claims that Kay has suffered physical,
emotional and financial harm and has
been placed in an untenable position of
believing his life may be in danger and
that he has suffered from anxiety and
extreme emotional distress.
The lawsuit asks that Kay be
awarded economic damages of no less
$250,000 and noneconomic damages of
no less than $1.5 million.
According to Vernonia City
Administrator Haack, “The City has
no comment on the current legal matter
and will rely on the advice of the City
Attorney and attorneys provided through
City County Insurance Services.”
