16 july18 2013 It has been 3 full baseball seasons since Brooke Morrison and Amy nieloha have taken the reigns of operating Vernonia Baseball, a sub group of Vernonia Booster Organization. (Vernonia Booster Organization meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm, all are welcome!) Verno- nia Baseball is responsible for organizing and operating T-ball, JR Midgets and all JBO teams. This season we had eight teams totaling close to 100 players! We have had many changes to our baseball program over the past three years. Virst, we lost our field at Spencer Park due to the construction of our new school. Graciously we were been given land to use which is now known as Titus Vield. With Titus Vield came a lot of work, both physical and the paper kind to meet county requirements. Second, we purchased new uniforms for our JBO teams with a very generous donation from Big Horn Logging Inc.. The boys welcomed the modern change from their out of date and hot polyester uniforms from the past. Third, we continue to have many great coaches that have stepped up and volunteered their time. This year we had four coaches new to coaching and four returning coaches to Vernonia Baseball! Vrom holding registrations, recruiting players & coaches, working on the field, organizing pictures, passing out uniforms, scheduling umpires, planning end of the season parties, attending Booster and JBO meet- ings, fundraising, scheduling games and practices, collecting uniforms and everything in between…you can see that your help is needed and appreciated!
