Readers Lend Their Voices...
To the Editor,
Holy cow! I wish I could buy an equity
position in Savannah Brown, Inc.! This lady can
write! Her writing skill, to the extent it is a prod-
uct of Vernonia Schools, is the most hopeful sign
on this first day. I look forward to reading more
of her work in future issues of The Voice, Harpers
or The Atlantic.

nonia High School and an Intern with Vernonia’s
Voice. Her first article appeared in our September
12, 2012 issue.)
To the Editor,
Vernonia Community PTA carnival is
back! The carnival will be on Saturday, October
20 from 5pm-9pm at Vernonia Schools. We will
be having great food, games, raffle/silent auction
and prizes, all to raise money for our kids. The
proceeds from our carnival will be dedicated to
help purchase a new playground for the elemen-
tary students, and commons area furniture for the
VMS and VHS students.
We could use a lot of help to make this
carnival a success. We could use volunteers,
home baked goods and items for the class baskets.
High school students can earn community service
hours for volunteering as well. Sign up lists are
available on the PTA bulletin board across from
the down stairs office. We have collection boxes
for carnival donations located inside the down-
stairs office.
The items we collect for the class baskets
will be raffled/ auctioned off at the carnival. We
are currently looking for donations that would fit
the following themes: family night, movie night,
game night, BBQ/picnic, puzzles, tea party, gar-
dening, baking, bath/spa, pet, Christmas, Verno-
nia school spirit (anything red and black, orange
and black or royal blue and yellow) and anything
U of O or OSU themed. Any and all donations
that would fit these themes would be greatly ap-
preciated.
This will be our first big event that we
have hosted since the flood of 2007. We are very
excited to be able to provide this family fun filled
evening and raise money for our kids. Please join
us!
If you have questions or would love to
help, please call Camrin at 503-429-9205. Thank
you.
