Kolbie Renay Bergerson
was held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at
2:00 P.M. at the Vernonia Community
Church, 967 State Avenue, Vernonia,
with Pastor Grant Williams officiating.
Burial Rites & Interment followed at
Vernonia Memorial Cemetery, 2080
Bridge Street, Vernonia, Oregon.
Family and friends were invited
to attend a reception immediately
following the Cemetery Rites held in the
gymnasium of the church.
Kolbie Renay Bergerson was
born June 13, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. to Keli
Krieger and Ted Bergerson of Vernonia.
She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz and was 21
inches long. The happy grandparents
are, Jamela Knight of Hillsboro, Don
and Barbara Bergerson of Vernonia, and
Dennis Krieger of Scappoose. Great
Grandparents are Pat and Darlene Knight
of Vernonia.

TESSIE M. ALDRICH, 85, a
resident of the Vernonia community,
died Wednesday morning, June 6, 2012
at Providence St. Vincent Medical
Center in Portland, Oregon.

Aldrich
was born on July 3, 1926 in Sumrall,
Mississippi, the daughter of the late
Ernest and Nettie (Drennan) Jones. She
was raised and received her education in
the Sumrall community.
She was united in marriage to
Conway Aultman in 1943 in Seminary,
Mississippi. Following their marriage
they resided in the Sumrall community,
until 1950 when they moved to

Vernonia. Tessie was preceded in death
by her husband, Conway, in 1955,
after celebrating over twelve years of
marriage together.
On November 3, 1958, she was
united in marriage to Edison G. “Ed”
Aldrich in Vancouver, Washington.
Following their marriage they made
their home in the Vernonia community.
Tessie was preceded in death by her
husband, Ed on July 20, 2006 in Portland,
Oregon, after celebrating over 46 years
of marriage together.
She was an active member of
the Vernonia Senior Center, Community
Holiday Cantatas and a supporter of the
religious community in Vernonia.
Among her special interests
Tessie enjoyed gardening, singing,
attending church, garage sale shopping
and cooking and entertaining family and
friends.
Her family believes this bible
verse symbolizes Tessie, “Do not forget
to show hospitality to strangers, for by
doing so some have entertained angels
without knowing it” Hebrews 13:2.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, Ernest and Nettie Jones and
her brother Elzie Jones.
Survivors include her son and
daughter in-law, Randy and Nancy
Aultman, of Vernonia, Oregon; her three
daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and
Cliff McLaughlin, of Gresham, Oregon;
Valerie and Jerry DeWitt, of Vernonia,
Oregon and Sonia Aldrich-McDonald
and Mark McDonald, of Maple Valley,
Washington; her two sisters, Eddie
V Graham, of Sumrall, Mississippi
and Janice Brown, of Purvis, Mississippi.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren
and their spouses, Noelle and Dave
Meidam, of Portland, Oregon; Darilee
and John Zimmerman, of Scio, Oregon;
Ryan and Francesca Aultman, of
Portland, Oregon; Chad and Holley
DeWitt, of Cutbank, Montana; Kendra
DeWitt, of Vernonia, Oregon; Colton and
Nicole DeWitt, of Vernonia, Oregon and
Karly DeWitt, of Eugene, Oregon; her
six great grandchildren, Wyatt Meidam;
Camille Meidam; Sylas Schaumburg;
Ayden Zimmerman; Riley Zimmerman;
and Grady DeWitt and numerous nieces
and nephews.
The family suggests that
remembrances may be contributions to
the American Cancer Society, 0330 SW
Curry Street, Portland, Oregon 97232, in
her memory.

MARCUS JOSEPH PEREZ
was born March 30, 1993 in Portland,
Oregon the son of the late Joe Thomas
Perez, Jr. and Reeann Marie Gray. He
was raised and received his education
in the communities of Clackamas and
Damascus. Upon his graduation, he
attended Renewable Air Institute of
Vancouver, WA.
He was a member of Good
Shepherd Community Church, of
Boring, Oregon. Among his special
interests he enjoyed playing basketball,
swimming and listening to rap music. He
was involved in Theater while attending
Damascus Middle School, having
participated in several roles in the plays
“BoxCar Children” and “Aladdin.”
