Susanne “Sue” Mary Oviatt,
resident of the Forest Grove community, 
died Sunday morning, May 20, 2012 at 
Marquis Care at Forest Grove, Oregon.
 
Graveside  Services  with  Full 
Military  Honors  were  held  on  Friday, 
May  25,  2012  at  10:30  AM  at  the 
Willamette  National  Cemetery,  11800 
S.E.  Mt.  Scott  Blvd.  in  Portland,  OR, 
with  the  Pastor  Eric  Schmidt,  of  the 
Sonrise  Church  in  Hillsboro,  OR, 
officiating.  Burial  Rites  and  Interment 
followed at the cemetery.
 
Family and friends were invited 
to  attend  a  reception  immediately 
following the cemetery rites,  at Sonrise 
Church, 2835 19 th  Avenue, Forest Grove, 
 
Susanne “Sue” Mary Oviatt, 64,  OR from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM
HARRELL JONES LOOPER
a  resident  of  the  Vernonia  community 
died  Sunday  morning,  May  27,  2012 
at  the  Tuality  Community  Hospital  in 
Hillsboro.
 
A    Memorial  Mass  was 
celebrated  at  1:00  PM  on  Friday,  June 
1,  2012  at  Visitation  Catholic  Church; 
4285  NW  Visitation  Rd.  in  Verboort, 
OR.  A  light  reception  followed    at  the 
parish hall.
 
Sue  was  born  on  June  2,  1947 
in  Hillsboro,  OR.  She  was  one  of  nine 
children  born  to  Howard  “Dutch”  and 
Elizabeth  “Betty”  (Vanderzanden) 
Vandehey. She was raised on the family 
farm in Forest Grove and attended school 
at Verboort. She attended high school in  was  born  November  18,  1923  in 
Banks  and  graduated  with  the  Class  of  Magazine, Arkansas  the  son  of  the  late 
James Aaron  Looper  and  Mary  (Jones) 
1965.
 
She  met  her  future  husband;  Looper. He was raised and received his 
Fred  Oviatt,  while  she  was  watching  a  education in Mansfield, Arkansas.

siblings;  Marie Applegate  of  Maricopa, 
AZ, Arlene VanDeHey of Forest Grove,  Instructor  at  the  Ventura  Community 
OR,  Kellen  Meeuwsen  of  Roy,  OR,  College. After moving to Toledo, OR, he 
Gerry  Vandehey  of  Forest  Grove,  OR,  also served as an Electric Apprenticeship

Survivors  include  his  wife, 
Helen J. Looper, of the family home in 
Forest  Grove,  OR;  his  daughter,  Karen 
Kay, of Forest Grove, OR; and  his two 
sons  and  daughters-in-law,  Wayne  and 
Kelly  Looper,  of  Banks,  OR;  and  Ken 
and  Kathy  Looper,  of  New  Brighton, 
MN.
 
Also  surviving  are  his  six 
grandchildren  and  their  spouses, 
Michael  Kay,  of Vernonia,  OR; Tiffany 
and Gabe, of Binkley, of Forest Grove, 
OR;  Kristen  and  Brandon  Raschik,  of 
New  Brighton,  MN;  Katie  and  Jordan 
Green, of Hillsboro, OR; Kevin Looper, 
of  Denver,  CO  and  Kayla  Looper, 
of  San  Francisco,  CA;  his  six  great-
grandchildren,  Josiah,  Isabella,  Emma, 
Emily,  Alison  and  Macie  and  several 
nieces and nephews.

HAZEL  M.  MEYER,  89,  a 
resident  of  the  Cornelius  community, 
died  Saturday  afternoon,  June  2,  2012 
at  Tuality  Community  Hospital  in 
Hillsboro, Oregon.
 
Private  Cremation  Rites  were 
held at Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove, 
OR. A Family Graveside Service will be 
held at Forest View Cemetery, 1161 W. 
Pacific Avenue, Forest Grove, OR.
 
HAZEL 
MARGUERITE 
MEYER was born on March 1, 1923 in 
Garibaldi,  OR,  the  daughter  of  the  late 
Harrison  and  Roxy  (Full)  Gauge.  She 
was raised and received her education in 
the Vernonia community, having been a 
graduate with the Vernonia High School 
class of 1941.
 
She  worked  for  GAF  View 
Master  in  Beaverton  for  many  years 
before her retirement at age 62. 
 
Hazel lived in the Forest Grove 
community, until 1985, when she moved 
to  the  Cornelius  community,  where  she 
has resided since.
 
Among her special interests she 
enjoyed reading and sewing.
 
She is preceded by her parents, 
Harrison  and  Roxy  Gauge;  her  sons, 
Michael Meyer, Craig Meyer and Steven 
Meyer and her brother Donald Gauge.
 
Survivors include her son, Roger 
Meyer,  of  Forest  Grove,  OR  and  her 
sister,  Betty  Thacker,  of  Forest  Grove, 
OR.
 
Also  surviving  are  her 
granddaughter and her husband, Melinda 
L.  and  James  “Jim”  Lucero,  of  Forest 
Grove, OR; her two great-grandchildren, 
James Lucero, of Forest Grove, OR and

Billy Frank Wilson
 
Billy  Frank  Wilson,  77,  a 
longtime  resident  of  the  Forest  Grove 
community,  died  Wednesday  afternoon 
at  the  Veterans  Medical  Center  in 
Portland, Oregon.
 
A  Celebration  of  Life  Service 
was held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 
10:00 AM  at  the  Fuiten,  Rose  &  Hoyt 
Funeral  Home,  2308  Pacific Avenue  in 
Forest  Grove,  OR,  with  the  Reverend 
Richard  E.  Osburn,  Retired  United 
Church  of  Christ  Minister,  officiating. 
Burial  Rites  and  Interment  with  Full 
Military  Honors  followed  at  the 
Willamette  National  Cemetery,  11800 
SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, OR.
 
Family and friends were invited 
to  attend  a  reception  immediately 
following the chapel service,  held in the 
fellowship room of the funeral home.
 
BILLY  FRANK  WILSON 
was  born  October  23,  1934  in  Slaton, 
TX,  the  son  of  the  late  Jesse  Wilson 
and  Ophelia  (Smith)  Wilson.  He  was 
raised and received his education in the 
community  of  New  Home,  TX,  having 
been a graduate of the Class of 1953.
 
He joined the United States Army 
on December 16, 1954 in Amarillo, TX. 
Billy Frank served for twenty-two years 
until he received his honorable discharge 
on December 31, 1976 in Fort Myer, VA 
at the rank of Sergeant First Class E-7.
 
Billy  Frank  was  united  in 
marriage  to  Marie  L.  Cambra  on 
September  28,  1963  in  Honolulu,  HI. 
They  celebrated  their  48 th   Wedding 
Anniversary  this  past  September. 
Following  their  marriage,  Billy  Frank’s 
military  career  took  them  to  many 
different communities including Ethopia, 
Africa  and  throughout  the  United 
States, including Hawaii.  In 1976, they 
returned to Maui, HI, where they made 
their home for twenty three years. While 
living  in  Maui,  Billy  Frank  worked  as 
a  Police  Dispatcher  Supervisor  for  the 
City of Maui, until the age of sixty-five 
when he retired.
 
Among  his  special  interests 
he  enjoyed  playing  dominoes,  gin 
rummy,  listening  to  country  music  and 
watching  western  movies.  He  was  also 
an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and he had a 
special love for his grandchildren and he 
supported them in their activities.
