John M. Kitchen
John M. Kitchen, 67, a longtime
resident of the Buxton community, died
Friday evening, May 11, 2012 at his home.
Private Cremation Rites were
held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest
Grove, Oregon.
the son of the late Charlie Kitchen and
Launita (Hobbs) Kitchen. He was raised
and received his education in the Anderson,
California, having been a graduate of the
Class of 1963.

Upon his high school graduation
he served one enlistment in the United
States Air Force, until he received his
honorable discharge.
He was united in marriage
to Sandra Pierce on May 20, 1966 in
Carson, Nevada. They celebrated their
45 th Wedding Anniversary this past May.
Following their marriage they moved to
the Buxton community in 1978, where
they have resided since.
John had worked as a truck driver
for the Interstate Trucking Company in
Wilsonville, Oregon for twenty years,
having retired in 2010.
Among his special interests he
enjoyed caring for his dog, “Ziggman” and
he had a special love
for his family life.
John was preceded in death by his
parents, Charlie and Launita Kitchen; by
his sister, Judy Kitchen and his brother,

Michael Kitchen.
Survivors include his wife,
Sandra Kitchen, of the family home
in Buxton, Oregon; his five children,
Benjamin Kitchen, of Portland, Oregon;
Christian Kitchen, of Buxton, Oregon;
Sunni Brasseur and her husband, Malcolm,
of Cornelius, Oregon; Stephanie Kitchen,
of Beaverton, Oregon; and Samantha
Kitchen, of Buxton, Oregon; and his four
siblings and their spouses, Carletta and
Pete Houtman, of Redding, California;
James and Kathy Kichen, of Anderson,
California; Tawnia and Rick Shumaker, of
Anderson, California and Shawn and Pat
Barr, of Arizona.
Also surviving are fifteen
grandchildren, one great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
