Gabe’s passion for cooking led
him to work as a cook at his family’s
restaurant, Santeria in downtown
Portland, where his kind nature was
greatly appreciated. When he wasn’t
working, you would often find him at
Backspace, spending time with friends
and playing video games.

Gabe traveled the US for the last
year or so until he settled in Vernonia
Oregon. Friday January 13 th , 2012 Gabe
died peacefully in his sleep. The humor
of departing on Friday the 13 th would not
have been lost on him.

Gabe will be greatly missed by
his family: mother Rebecca Roark, father
James Roark, sisters Amanda Eckhoff,
Laurelei Roark and Scout Burgett. He
will also be sorely missed by the larger
circle of extended family and friends.

If you would like to make a
charitable contribution in his name,
these are two organizations that Gabe
appreciated:

The Panera Cares Cafe at 4143
NE Halsey St. Portland, OR 97232
(donate onsite).

Outside In at 1132 SW 13th Ave
Portland, OR 97205 (or outsidein.org).

As much as we miss Gabriel,
he would rather that we laugh about the
times we had rather than cry about the
times we missed.
